OUR MISSION



New Florida Cinema, Inc. is a non-profit 501c3 company whose mission is to support the film community throughout Florida. Our purpose is to provide the filmmaking community with resources to create, distribute, and exhibit their films so that filmmakers and the viewing public can achieve cultural enrichment and educational advancement through film.



OUR BOARD



John Lagerholm



President



John is an award-winning screenwriter, producer and director of "The Neighborhood" film series and the "Domain of Terror" audio podcast. John also works as a writer/editor for the Youtube Channel Defunctland on its "DefunctTV" documentary series.


John lives and makes films in Sarasota, Florida with his wife and two sons. He enjoys working with and supporting the Florida film community to bring original short films to the big screen.





Thomas Frick



Vice President / Director of Public Relations



Thomas Frick is an award-winning Writer, Editor, Director for the YouTube Channel: SpotlightFrick. His first two web series, "Darkest Case" and "Narrows" have been running for over 7 years and have continued to create other films and shorts collaborating with local creators throughout Florida. Thomas joined the team at New Florida Cinema to help other artists get their work out to larger audiences.



Laurie Stoner



Treasurer / Sectretary



Laurie Stoner,established the Sarasota Screenwriters in 2010 to provide movie & TV script development to local screenwriters. The group organizes table reads, pitch practicing, and story feedback to the benefit of screenwriters.


In addition to being a screenwriter, Laurie is a has produced five shorts films: "Shared List", "Sleep of the Abyss", "Luigi’s Is Not Closing", "Have Mercy", and "Beautiful" in and around Sarasota, Florida.
